Steele Memorial Library, in Elmira NY.

Its the main branch of the Chemung Couny Library District.

Built seven years after the flood of 1972 in a modern style the Steele Memorial Library has continued to be a forward looking institution in our region. One unique feature of this library is it’s green roof. Installed in 2010 to replace the original. Inside the Steel another unique aspect is a Makerspace with 3D printers, Laser Engraver, Sewing,  Soldering, AV gear and many more tools available to use in the space.

Geneology collections, media and regular programing for all age levels are also features of the Steele.
